Scope of Practice

The Holistic Pulsing Guild of New Zealand (Inc)

Accredited Practitioner

A Holistic Pulsing Guild Accredited Practitioner will be able to demonstrate competency in the following areas:

  • Gathering client history and information relevant to the client’s needs, including client focus, intention, preferences and expectations.
  • Offering a range of treatment options from relaxing to therapeutic in the context of client self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-responsibility.
  • Managing the client/practitioner relationship with respect, attention, acceptance and confidentiality.
  • Responding to the client from a holistic perspective so as to include considerations of a mental, physical, emotional, spiritual and contextual/environmental nature.
  • Attention to the clients’ physical state including observation of verbal and non-verbal cues, range of movement, comfort and client self-report.
  • Delivery of rocking movement and stretching techniques according to industry accepted practices and principles, including gentle and safe touch and movement appropriate to the clients’ needs.
  • Facilitating the client’s awareness of their own condition through bodymind connections and insights.
  • Supporting and appropriate engagement with the clients’ ongoing emotional state of being.
  • Communicating to enhance and facilitate the clients’ inner process, awareness, range of choices and integration.
  • Deciding with the client an effective and relevant care plan including information about Holistic Pulsing, range of interventions, client self-management, after-care and explanation of possible side-effects.
  • Referring a client to the appropriate health professionals where the needs of the client fall outside the Holistic Pulsing Guild Scope of Practice, or the practitioners’ range of competency, or where Holistic Pulsing is contra-indicated.
  • Professional presentation and behaviour according to the Holistic Pulsing Guild Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
